New workshop on negotiation skills

Negotiation Skills: how to achieve win/win results.

Successful negotiation is key to personal effectiveness and business success, and it takes many forms: finalising a big contract with a major client, getting the best price from a supplier, or simply making day-to-day arrangements with your colleagues.

This one-day workshop teaches you to know what you want from any negotiation, and also teaches you that to get what you want you have to know what the other party wants too.

The workshop draws on ‘principled negotiation’, where decisions are made according to the merits of a proposal, and on ‘investigative negotiation’ which uses questioning techniques to open up options, and to understand the other party’s constraints, interests and priorities.

New workshop and new business partner

In November 2009 I teamed up with Helen Morris from New Business Clinic and we launched a new workshop aimed at all client-facing staff in marketing agencies. The two-day workshop is designed to ensure that agency account handlers etc. have the skills to retain clients, win additional business from existing clients, and spot opportunities for business with new clients.

The workshop focuses on building relationships, good communication, and consultative selling.

Hyper Island, Stockholm

In September and October2009 I delivered to three-day workshops to the wonderful trainees at Hyper Island in Stockholm.I worked on communication and presentation skills with the Digital Media and Interactive Art Director trainees.

Hyper Island has been described as the 'Oxbridge' of media training and there were trainees from all around the world. It it was a great honour to be invited there, and I had a wonderful time.

And, for those who haven't been, Stockholm is a great city.
