All my workshops are practical, they are opportunities to reflect, to share experiences, to learn from me and from others, to change who you are and what you do. I prefer bespoke solutions, so I’m happy to tailor what I do to meet a client’s needs.

What is a culture of improvement?

A culture of improvement is one that continually develops:

  • skills, knowledge and experience
  • confidence and motivation
  • systems and processes.

The goal of a culture of improvement is to continually develop effectiveness and performance, and to place improvement at the very heart of an organisation.

The programme

Through three half-day workshop the programme looks at an organisation’s culture in terms of:

  • the mix of values, beliefs and behaviours that form the ‘air’ that the organisation breaths
  • the skills and tools that everyone can use to improve themselves and help their colleagues improve.

The programme will help you create a culture of improvement. It is designed to build on the culture and the skills you already have. It seeks to give everyone in your organisation the range of skills and tools to make them the drivers of greater performance and success. It is a must for every member of staff. It is especially useful for managers and team leaders because improving staff performance and morale is a key part of their role.

Programme content

These components make up the programme:

Emotional intelligence: be better able to understand your own thoughts, emotions and behaviour, and those of your colleagues, be better able to self-manage and deal calmly and appropriately with any situation.

Questioning and listening: how to use questions and the power of listening as tools to improve performance and morale, and learn two simple and powerful tools for clarifying goals and solving problems.

Feedback: how to give effective feedback that encourages self reflection, improvement (in attitude, skills and quality of work) and motivation, how to ensure that feedback is well received, and how to feel ok about receiving feedback.

Review: how to review a project to draw out lessons that lead to improvement.

Motivation: learn what motivates people, how to raise motivation and thereby raise performance and commitment, and how to avoid lowering it.

More about the workshops

The programme is delivered over three half-day workshops which give adequate opportunity for discussion and reflection, and time to embed and practice new skills. There will be lots of brainstorms, plenty of debate and reflection, and lots of ideas sharing.

At the end of each workshop everyone goes away with plans to further develop their skills, knowledge and experience, and with ways to embed a culture of improvement in the organisation.
